What is a Xolo?

  • Also called the Mexican Hairless dog, the Xoloitzcuintli is a dog breed with a history that goes back 3,500 years before Italian explorer Christopher Columbus colonized the Americas and indigenous cultures were conquered.

  • Aztecs and Mayans believe the gods created the Xolo to guard the living and guide the dead's souls through the Mictlán (the underworld). Spanish colonizers sought to eradicate the breed because it was the representation of a non-Christian god. But despite colonizers' best efforts, the Xolo continues to thrive today.

  • Xolo Books was created with the enduring spirit of the Xolo breed.

What types of used books can I donate?

  • Xolo Books will accept any book that is in good condition across all types of genres and stories. Every month Xolo Books will donate a percentage of its used books sales to a non-profit fighting for racial and social justice within the United States. By broadening the catalog of used books, we hope to increase monthly sales and offer more financial support to these non-profits.
